Regulations for a good coexistence in Würzburg’s nightlife!

Where some people party and others live, there are always disturbances and conflicts.

With mutual respect, more consideration and compliance with the applicable regulations, good coexistence in nightlife can succeed!

LIVE & CELEBRATE TOGETHER

In order to make nightlife in Würzburg safer and conflict-free, the city of Würzburg has introduced additional regulations for some streets, squares and green spaces in the city.

The aim is to balance the legitimate interests of the various groups in the city. So that some people can celebrate carefree without others having to suffer from noise, rubbish and other pollution.

Night’s rest

From 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., a general quiet period applies in Würzburg – as in the whole of Bavaria. This means that the general public and neighbours must not be disturbed by loud music, shouting or similar noise.

Disturbances of the peace can be cautioned by the municipal public order service or the police for a fee.

ALCOHOL BAN

From 1.00 a.m. to 6.00 a.m., the carrying (‘holding in the hand’) and consumption of alcoholic beverages in public areas on the Juliuspromenade and in Sanderstraße is prohibited. It is irrelevant whether the alcoholic beverage is open or closed.

Violators can be fined by the municipal public order service or the police (from €25).

MUSIC SYSTEM BAN

From 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. in the front area of the Sanderauer Mainufer and from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. on the Leonhard-Frank-Promenade and at the Alter Kranen, the playing of music via loudspeakers, radios or smartphones as well as the playing of musical instruments is prohibited.

Violators can be warned by the municipal public order service or the police for a fee (from €35).

Public Urination

It is generally forbidden to defecate outdoors – on streets, paths, squares and in green areas. Please use one of the many public toilets or a ‘nice toilet’ in pubs, bars and clubs!

Violators can be fined by the municipal public order service or the police (from €55).

LITTERING & POLLUTION

Contamination of public spaces with packaging, cigarettes, bottles, broken glass or other rubbish is generally prohibited in any form.

Violators can be warned by the municipal public order service or the police for a fee (from €35). Larger offences may result in a higher fine.

EVENTS IN GREEN Areas

According to the municipal statutes, it is generally prohibited to hold events in all public green and recreational areas.

Violations can be penalised by the municipal public order service or the police.

BARBECUE & OPEN FIRE

Barbecues and open fires are only permitted in the designated areas on the Zellerau and Sanderau Main meadows.
